So, read the entire article carefully.

to vs towards

TO and TOWARDS both show the location of a noun or pronoun, but still, there is a slight variation that makes them different from each other, and after learning that difference, you will become able to use them correctly in your sentence.

“TO” is usually used when we show a specific location or direction of a noun. That means we are confirmed about the location of a noun where he or she is going to go. Let’s be clear with an example. “Jayanti is going to school”. In the following example, we tell the confirmed location of “JAWANTI” that she is going to school.

Unlike, TOWARDS is used when we do not know the exact location of a pronoun or noun. This means in TOWARDS we just have the assumption, but not the surety that whether a noun or pronoun will go there or not, so in that condition, we use TOWARDS. Let’s have an example. I became scared when he threw the ball towards me. The example is showing the unspecific location of the noun, ball, there is a possibility, the ball might have fallen anywhere else, but before that, its direction was towards me when the ball was thrown.

MORE EXAMPLES OF TO AND TOWARDS.

1. We went towards Pizza Shop. (possibly we decided to go to another shop later)

3. Aslam turned his face towards her. (his direction of the face towards her, but he might have turned somewhere else later).

4. Karishma gives the notebook to her cousin.

I hope your confusion of to and towards has been cleared now.
