Democracy
considers to be one of the tremendous forms of government as in this sort of
government masses of a country have the right to choose their leader through a proper
voting system. Moreover, the citizen has complete right to question from their
leaders if he or she fails to live on their expectations. But there are some
reasons that become the cause of democracy’s failure or weakens democracy.
REASONS FOR THE FALL OF DEMOCRACY:
1. LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Everyone
is accountable according to law either it is a common man or even president or
prime minister. Everyone is liable to stand in the dock of the court if she or
he fails to fulfill his or her responsibility, and it is necessary for a
democratic as they will have the fear of law before doing anything against the
law, but if a leader becomes dominant over the law, he or she will come under
the category of deprivation of accountability, and by doing so he or she becomes
confident and keeping executing such things that will give the raise to the
fall of democracy.
2. CORRUPTION:
Corruption
is just like a termite the way termites destroy the wood internally in the same
way corruption destroys the country financially and economically. If an elected
leader is corrupt then he or she will rule the country accordingly. Along with
the leader, everyone who is working under him or her will also become
optimistic to follow the same path as their leader, and in this way, the entire
system becomes deceitful and dishonorable, and the state will remain unprogressive.
3. DYNASTIC POLITICS:
Dynastic
politics is the cause of the failure of democracy too. It is due to favoritism
or lack of awareness masses of a country for which they support dynastic politics.
Generally, in dynastic politics, if a former leader does not contest in an
election due to some reasons, then he or she lets his/her kids participate in upcoming
elections, and it does not matter to him either their kids are capable to rule
the country or not. So, the lack of experience is the key reason due to which
they could not handle the matters of the state properly, and in such a way, the
country goes towards backwardness.
4. LACK OF AWARENESS:
Lack
of awareness of the masses can lead a country towards the fall of democracy,
and due to this negligence of the nation, the leader has the complete power to
rule the country according to his way regardless of consequences may even put
his nation into difficulty. Furthermore, education is a vital source that makes
everybody to familiar with their basic rights, and it is mandatory for a state,
masses should be given education at that level so they become able to recognize
their basic rights or else that country would be considered as one of the
backward nations, and it is surely a serious warning to a democratic country.
5. LACK OF LEADERSHIP:
The
quality of a leader is to lead his team effectively he will not be called a true leader unless he does so. Strong and
true leadership is an essential essence in democracy as it let a leader achieve
his missions. Moreover, it is the leader’s personal actions that inspire and
motivate others to coordinate with me, and by doing this, he/she takes up the
country to the acme of excellence. Thus, it is an important fact that a leader
must build vigorous leadership or else it will threaten democracy too.
6. RIGGING IN ELECTIONS:
Purity
keeps a significant part in a healthy lifestyle as it maintains mental and
physical health. Likewise, to sustain the mental and physical health of a
country it is a must that election must proceed without rigging.
The
goal of pure election is acquired when a leader should not be elected on the
basis of race, or gender. Along with that not having objection in the election
to anyone even not to opposition parties is the sign of election without
manipulation, and it is paramount to sustain the democratic scent in the
country or else it creates an extremely frightened and alarming situation in the
country which undoubtedly becomes the cause of turbulence for the masses, and
ultimately, this chaos certainly intimidates the democracy.
Thus,
these were the top reasons which can destabilize or weaken the democracy of a
country. so for establishing a democracy in a country the above-mentioned
points should be avoided. In this way, a country will have peace and become one
of the developing and flourishing countries of the world.
