What is the difference between Crime and Sin

Crime and Sin:

crime vs sin

Well, crime and sin both seem identical terms, but actually, there is a slight difference between the above two terms.

Crime is referred to the disobedience, or violation of those laws constituted by the Legislative branch while sin is referred to those actions or works which are done against religion or divine law. Moreover, there is a concept of forgiveness in sin. If somebody repents over his/her ill-doings, she or he will be pardoned, but in crime, there is not any conception of forgiveness. A person is given punishment accordingly.

Furthermore, a crime can be a sin too, but some sins can not be considered as a crime.

Lets clear them further:

Pride/Ego: Having pride or Ego in a person is certainly not a crime, but it is undoubtedly a sin.   Similarly, stealing someone's money is considered to be a crime as well as a sin.

Smoking: Smoking is certainly a sin, but it is not a crime according to the legislative laws
