What is the difference between Listening and hearing

What is the difference between Listening and Hearing?

Listening and hearing both are the senses of perceiving. But actually, there is a huge difference between them.

Hearing is a process of perceiving sounds where your concentration is not there. For example, sounds around us are an example of hearing because we are not listening to them consciously.

Similarly, Listening is completely the opposite of hearing, Listening is a process of perceiving sounds consciously and with full of concentration. For example, the lecture of a teacher in a classroom is an example of listening because of completely concentration on the lecture of a teacher.
